Faculty Advisor

David Mazure studied at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University (BFA), the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and East Tennessee State University (MFA) and has presented solo exhibitions at the William King Museum (Abingdon, VA), the Infantree Gallery (Lancaster, PA), the Visual Art Exchange (Raleigh, NC) and LARAC’s Lapham Gallery (Glens Falls, NY), amongst others. He lives in Blairstown, NJ and teaches drawing, design, entrepreneurship and foundations courses as Professor of Art + Media + Design at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

David has been included in group exhibitions at ATHICA (Athens Institute for Contemporary Art), The Art Institute of Illinois-Chicago (IL), SUNY Cortland (NY), Tulsa Living Arts (OK), Siena Institute of Art (Italy), Aljira Center for Contemporary Art (NJ), Tangent Gallery (Detroit, MI), 808 Gallery (Boston, MA), Eastern New Mexico University (NM), Ben Shahn Gallery (NJ), University of North Carolina – Asheville (NC), amongst others and was selected for Bridges: Spanning Tradition, Innovation, & Activism (Southern Graphics Council International Conference and Print Biennial in San Francisco, CA). New Jersey, (for which he received an Honorable Mention 3 years prior), juried by Guggenheim curator Joan Young. Best-in-Show honors were also bestowed upon him for the von Liebig Art Center’s National Art Encounter 2012-13 and the University of Missouri’s Figure-it-Out.

Images of his artwork have appeared in many publications; the most noteworthy being the Manifest International Drawing Annual 2008 and Vol. 1, Issue #3 of 6YL Magazine. David has received several Faculty Research & Development grants to fund special projects. David curated a traveling exhibition, M(i)(A)cro: A Contemporary Drawing Exhibition, that appeared in 2012 outside of Boston, MA at the New Art Center and appeared at the Lawrence Art Center in Lawrence, KS in 2014. His New Mythologists series contains the most diversity of media and themes to-date including a performance-action. New Mythologists has traveled nationally.

Currently, David has started his own tabletop gaming company named Brainstorm Games and has created three successfully Kickstarted games in the DEVOUR-verse and is currently play-testing the fourth.
